certainly is a blessing.....I live up by

Laid down, and ready

For my work to begin...

I am a scared animal fleeing the fire of desire...

I am a survivor once again though thes

flames have grown higher

Higher and higher...Her Love lifted me.

This has both my interest and my wondering...

it has begun to relaease deep seeded feelings

in energetic burst of ethereal guidance!

 Sharply focused on the murmered callings

My mind a vacuum to greet

The void

I have no time for labored Stallings

Only the feathered thoughts

Of a beautiful bird.

A rainbow of nouns and the spash of a verb.

SERENADE IN BLUE

Now I will see if I can be part of that

36" x 48"

Graphite on canvas

In Transition

 Three thirty AM.

I am done for tonight

My mind is mellow

I like what I see

 Okay the puzzle has presented itself to me in black

and white....very straight forward....I am excited to see

how this Serenade develops....

Hang on and buckle up in blue.....I think there is

somethings for me...

And I am sure there will be many

things for the all of you!

 Up until four am..got out of bed cause I couldnt sleep

so i painted for two more hours...I got it to a restful place

and have sent a warning to my favorite pillow!

May first and I hear a

SERENADE

it is coming from the canyons of Far and is lighted

by lightning roaring from distant thunders and Hail.

Out of the Black

For now

Into the Blue

For now

Its getting late

For now

It's so hard to wait

For now.

SERENADE

The verses are coming in

The chorus is catchy

The hook is in the look

The score is in the putting

I only had a limited amount of cobalt teal paint to mix...

so I finished up at midnight and will try to catch up

on some sleep.

I do like staying with the different hues of the blues!

A Blue SERENADE

From a spark

Comes an ember

From the ember

Comes blue hot

Coolness

SERENADE blues

Come drifting in like ships out in the sea

Blues of many hues got me tripping...

Wonderin' if that little girl does ever she

Think of me?

SERENADE

base coat

Workin' progress

Now the long hours

The delicate results

And metamorphic reveal!

I begin

Wednesday wonders

As I am painting I become a happy musician ...happy because I get

to sing a SERENADE and i am painting on my canvas

and singing in my head

And all is chugging up the tracks and realising how

very heavy the verses.....

Work in progress

Back after taking the past two weeks working

and completing a private commission...glad to be back!

let's see where this Serenade is going...

SERENADE IN BLUE

I'm working eight hours on this today and I swear you

can't see where six of those hours went

...mostly just cleaning up some sloppiness

For you who listen with your eyes...Here is

SERENADE IN BLUE

finally got out of the Black

Only took 9 days to accomplish three days work!

Tomorrow back into the Blue!

Three different kinds of blue

One for me

The others for you

Coning along but

More blues to do

~~~~~~~~
You stay right there
I'll stay true blue ...
So the SERENADE Jade is made in the shade!
Now to polish off the Cerulean
To one in a million
And weekend come chillin'
Might be wrapping it up
By the next weekend!
DANCING ON THE RAIL
JAMES MAZZEO
Self portrait with painting Spring 2014
Follow the Paintings' Progression below
-
 Here is the midnight edition of ERECTUS WITHOUT MERCY
(just kidding I dont have a title for it yet)
It was Van Gogh who said,"There is no Blue without Orange."
 Got the compliment colors coming and growing....
frozen and flowing....seeded and knowing...
Thursday night progress...thinking this may turn out okay!
Just a ways to go to the know!
One thirty am and I am ready for bed. I am multi layering the
colors to their strongest deepest hue then
I will begin its transformation
I have multi-coated three of the four areas bringing them each
to a deep hue which will serve as the base coat to begin upon...
I know what the forth (white) areas are going to be painted but
I will let you guess what color i am thinking of
....we will see if anyone was correct!
So......Out of the Blue and into the Black got it right!
So now we have the base coatings up and ready
to begin the dance.
Today was a good day to paint....DANCING ON THE RAIL
is going to be a doozy do bop doozy do!
One AM ....nine hours of painting to get this much closer
....this is about two weeks from completion
DANCING ON THE RAIL 24X30 acrylic on canvas...
work in progress...fun work! Fun progress!
 I could have spread my wings and done a thousand things...
and still have done some more!
Tuesday's child with blues gone wild and
Shining bright in rainbow light!
Working in the warm hues....every bit as rewarding as
when working in the cool blues!
Got down with the browns and save
the next day for the grey.....
The final level is ready to begin...days of work,
if done right, will go unseen
Worked the browns today and will work the greys
tomorrow... DANCING ON THE RAIL
The orange is popping and shimmering. ....the greys need
a little more to keep up so tomorrow sunny or
not will be a grey day for me
 Got the greys up to par....now back to the blues for a day or tues
...it is close...it is close!
 Got the Blues but made them shine like a dome of
stars in a Diamond mine.
DANCING ON THE RAIL 24X30 acrylic on canvas
.....for the most part it is finished! This has been a joy for me
THE YEAR OF THE HORSE
Here is my canvas for my next painting ..... if you can zoom
around for a minute or two you can see what's going to be
So.....here is my starting first days work.....I spent three hours
with my pencil adding things here and there like I knew what
I was doing...then , using yellow I started defining spaces
to launch out to and from.
Seven more hours of yellow and I'm starting to see the rhythm
of this new work....few more hours and this first early navigation
is complete.its midnight and I'm too tired to keep going...
I was up at six am this morning to drive down the Big Sur coast.
Cheers!
Finished the first coat of light yellow to set motion to this
painting....the joy is growing quick.....I am going
to keep it close.
So far I get gentle splashes of harmony and peaceful
rhythm.....but I feel something stirring about
Finished for now with the yellow and yellow-orange
bottom coat...tomorrow is another day. ...
This base coat of color will set the perimeter
for the Analogous retraints.....
There is the early stirring I told you about....this has. Something
to do with summer in winter in california...yesterday and today
it was in the 80° along the coast at the beaches!
Only four hours today... love taking off a half a day of rest!
Today I saw a big full galloping horse with a rider hanging
on with all he's got! It is the year of the horse and like all
my past years this horse is moving at derby speed!
 Today I didnt see anything ...head down painting the lower
acreage one ear listening to my muse and the other for the
factory lunch whistle!
 Should finish up the base coat tomorrow...
..now we got the rhythm and the beat.
...now the fun begins!
 Should finish up the base coat tomorrow.....
now we got the rhythm and the beat. ...now the fun begins!
Easy day today...finished all the base coats.
..tomorrow I will see if i can see which
way to steer towards
 Started working on the greens today....
they are trimming up quite nicely!
Had to work the yellow-orange areas today
and tonight.....it'starting to pop like the first
few kernals to hit the flame!
 It is harmonizing beautifully! It is going to be titled
"THE YEAR OF THE HORSE".....it has a way to go
to get where I can let go the reigns.
Dont know if you can tell but it is starting to
become optically kinetic
...but the work is still in there...waiting
I've been working on the fine line.....all the live long day.....
You look and can tell that it is changing...you look
and see the subtle differences and the obvious
progressions...you look and find fullfilment for today
....you look and see things that stir you up
Up late but feeling great....gonna sleep while
I wait to begin again tomorrow. ...if you can zooma
up close and dance around you can begin to see
the optic blending to get your mind bending
Well.....after eight hours of doing things with
paint that one can hardly notice...I congratulate
myself for the good job I'm doing and
take the rest of the night off!
I have been working three long days and nights
to get the painting to this state of development
....one more week should do it...I am very pleased
with the level of sophistication this work is exhibiting
Well im at the crossroad...time to take in and reflect.....
do I need to add anything to the chorus? It is in a
harmonious balanced state......but am I?
EDGE OF FOREVER
My new canvas is 18x24 it has gotten my attention
Day two and it seems like this is going to cast a whole
new hue scale over this whole new view tale my
color wheel's spinning!
Day two level one eleven thirty and I am done
for tonight....cheers!
Day two level one eleven thirty and I am
 Day three Level One... these first colors will create
challenge and direction ...the second layer of paint will start
to answer....the third embellish....stay tuned the fun
starts here and now!
Day Four Level One....off on a good start ...on with the
new fun.....it may be wintertime but
I'll have my day in the Sun!
 Day five...Level one...slowly we begin hear the
key of see! Enjoy this is where the getting is good!
Day Six on a Sunday ....way kix on fun day!! Still
on first level (basically the bottom coat) the next
two levels will transform this foundation into
eye-scrapers and cloud pleasers!
 Day seven...level one ....the application of the base coat
.....very enjoyable so far!
Day eight...first level base coat
.....no where to go but up!
 Day nine....revolution day.....end of level one...
base coat finished direction logged and charted....
I am happy with where this painting is going...
 Finished three day's of painting a second layer
on the base coat to make the colors more opaque before
I begin the second level of depth.
Starting second level ...worked seven hours
and I doubt if one could see the effort
...but it is there and I like how it's going!
Tuesday morning...just woke up....I was dreaming
I was soaring in my painting like a bird...
I knew it was my painting but I did not know it's name
and I heard an inner voice say " The Edge of Forever
....you are on the EDGE OF FOREVER !"
THE EDGE OF FOREVER acrylic on canvas?
work in progress. Level two
THE EDGE OF FOREVER artwork in progress...level two...
this is time consuming and subtle. ..but necessary to get
to the gourmet visual treats!
THE EDGE OF FOREVER ....Another eight hours
